Identify and Overcome the Symptoms of Failure

"Your life need not be a succession of twenty-four hour vacuums, nor must you live in an emotional jungle anymore."

Your mind is a battlefield. Plan to win the war. Here are your enemies:

Frustration - ask yourself why you are experiencing this emotion and then set about to resolve it.

Agressiveness - properly channel this attitude toward reaching goals that will bring satisfaction.

Insecurity - set realistic expectations to minimize this feeling.

Loneliness - you are one of God's creations and need to interact with others.

Uncertainty - make a decision, take the plunge and get a little wet!

Resentment - form a realistic image of yourself and gain some respect for yourself.

Emptiness - Get outside of yourself and invest in the lives of other people.

The secret to successful living is to rise above your feelings of failure to your good moments. You must first fight the battle for your mind by replacing your negative feelings with positive feelings so your logical and creative mind can flourish.

Here are a few affirmations that might be helpful to you:

I am responsible for myself.

I make my own choices.

I measure my results against desired outcomes.

I make adjustments along my pathway to success.

“When life hands you a lemon, make lemonade"

Three Specific Ways to Increase Your Self-Esteem

"You are an extremely valuable, worthwhile, significant person even though your present circumstances may have you feeling otherwise."

Have you ever driven a vehicle with the emergency brake inadvertently left on? I'm sure we've all experienced that...I know I have. That's what it's like when you go through your life with a less than optimal self-esteem.

Which of the statements below resonates the most with you right now with respect to your self-esteem (defined as how you see and value yourself as a person)?

- You feel like you're living under a cloud of negative circumstances (low)

- You feel somewhat worthy of respect and consideration (medium)

- You feel like, and expect, things to go well in the future (high)

Now, overall on a scale from 0 (lowest) to 100 (highest), where do you rate your self-esteem?

Here are three specific ways to increase your self-esteem:

1. Collect and read positive affirmations. Be as emotional when reading your affirmations as if you were at your favorite sporting event cheering for your favorite team. Let me know if you would like some sample affirmations to start with.

2. Spend some dedicated time thinking about your past successes. Then when you experience your next "failure" use the phrase "next time I'll _____" to determine how you'll improve when a similar situation arises again.

3. Seek to help or praise someone else as soon as possible. Remember, you accomplish more by praising others than you do criticizing them. Helping and praising others will help to build your self-esteem and it may help build theirs!

So, now that you know how, turn on your smile and increase your self-esteem!

Medical advice for the day:
Never see a doctor whose office plants have died....

Are You Using Your Transforming Power?

"You possess a potent force that you either use, or misuse, hundreds of times every day."

Which of the following are you predominately experiencing?
  • confidence or timidity?
  • calmness or confusion?
  • poise or restlessness?
  • peace of mind or heartache?
  • sorrow or joy?
  • poverty or prosperity?
  • fear or freedom?
Please realize there is a huge difference between fighting life and understanding life. You and I must understand life if we are to make the most out of it.

The greatest transforming power you possess is the power to choose! The power of choice allows you to look at the results you're getting, look at the choices you have made, and decide to pursue the desirable options.

Let's make this tangible. Find a coin. It doesn't matter what coin it is as long as it has a head and tail. When you randomly flip the coin it will come up "heads" (representing positive) or "tails" (representing negative). Why flip it randomly? Why not just decide whether you want to see "heads" or "tails" in each situation you encounter. Be proactive and choose which side of the coin you will set, see and experience today.

Now that you are aware of the transforming power you possess, use it regularly to create the results you desire.

As You Think, You Become!

"All that you accomplish or fail to accomplish with your life is the direct results of your thoughts."

How can you transform your thoughts into reality?

What is it that your truly seek from life?

A person can only rise and achieve by lifting up their thoughts.

Are you a chronic pleasure seeker or a persistent action taker? Only through persistent action and effort can our dreams become reality.

Be careful once you have achieved one of your goals or dreams since we tend to let our guard down after successes and become susceptible to other influences.

Plan now to sacrifice superficial things to attain more significant goals.

Remember, as you think, you become!

Your Own Acre of Diamonds

"Many of us spend our lives searching for personal success when it is so close that we can reach out and touch it."

Specialized knowledge is much more valuable than financial capital. With specialized knowledge you can acquire capital. Do you know what your specialized knowledge is and are you sharing it with the world?

Strive to be an improver of existing things or ideas, you don't have to have an original idea to contribute.

Understand that your best opportunities are near you now, you may just be overlooking them.

If you are in the business of marketing products or services, make sure you ask people what they want or need. Get to know your customers and learn what they need, and then invest yourself where you are most needed. Where there is human need, there may be great fortune.

Remember, there are two very important steps in your personal success: 1) begin and 2) finish.
