How To Turn Your Desires Into Reality

Your thoughts and desires are things, and they are the seedlings of all you will have and become.

Are your desires just hopes, wants, or wishes? Be advised, they must reach the level of a burning desire for them to be transformed into reality. Is your desire stong enough?

You must have the burning desire to acquire each goal, along with a workable plan to accomplish it, and the never-give-up persistence to keep moving forward past obstacles that seem to be in your way. Almost all who succeed in accomplishing their desires pass through struggles on their way to achieving them.

Here are six practical steps anyone can use to transform their desires into reality:

1. Decide specifically what you want / desire.
2. Decide exactly what you will give in return for your desire.
3. Set a definite date for achieving your desire.
4. Create a specific plan and begin working it immediately.
5. Write your answers to the previous 4 steps in a clear statement.
6. Read your statement aloud twice daily, once upon rising and once before going to bed.

As you read your written statement aloud, it's important that you see, feel, and imagine that you already possess your desire.

Important Steps to Build Wealth

"The acquisition of money has always been a simple matter to those who can practice a little discipline and follow a few rules."

Q: What is the "secret" to creating personal wealth and achieving true financial security?

A: Making sure your income exceeds your outgo.

Sound simple? Yes. Hard to do? Yes, for most people it is.

One way to build wealth is to automatically pay yourself first. If you continue to think that you will save what's left over you will rarely save anything. Treat your savings as one of your highest priority bills that must get paid. Once you've established the habit of paying yourself first you will find more satisfaction in rationale saving than in irrational spending.

Another method of building wealth is to use debt and credit only for acquiring appreciating assets. Proverbs 22:7 says "Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender." Do you really want to be in the servant role? Just like “Do It Now” conquers procrastination, "Pay As You Go” conquers the improper use of debt and credit.

The Law of Increasing Returns

It really does pay to do more than than you are paid to do. There are two reasons why this is true.

First, when you establish yourself as someone who gives more and better service, you stand apart and above others who do not.

Second, with resistance comes strength and with strength comes greater value and durability.

In nature, the farmer who plants and nurtures the seed he plants benefits from the law of increasing returns by not only getting more seed but also getting the harvest of his crop.

Henry Ford demonstrated this principle by paying more wages than average and thereby receiving better service than average.

Here is the crux of this lesson: Doing more and better service than you are paid for is a privilege and will help you become someone who others cannot get along without.

Are you ready to apply this law in your life? If so, during the next 6 months change your attitude from one of only doing what you are paid to do to one where you do something for someone each day without the expectation or acceptance of payment.

Tools for Working Smarter

"The goal of a more effective and efficient life is to provide you with enough time to enjoy some of it."

Here are some practical guidelines for organizing your life and working smarter.

  • On one hand resist the temptation to become so organized that you kill your effectiveness but not so disorganized that you never get your important work done.
  • Acquire the best tools for doing each job or hire someone who has the best tools. Tools can be defined as anything used to help you reach your goals. It has been said that the difference between wise men and fools is their choice of tools.
  • Organizing your workspace will help you get more results in less time. Also, in addition to efficient, make sure your workspace is comfortable.
  • Work on improving you ability to concentrate. Remember when you discovered the power of sunlight focused through a magnifying glass? Our focused time and energy are much like that. When we focus our time and energy on something it brings about powerful results.
  • Improve your thinking by using the tools of pen & paper or electronic mind-mapping. When you define and document a problem it's already halfway solved.
  • One of our best tools is our memory. Without our memory everything we learn would be forgotten. The 3 stages of our memory are 1) remembering, 2) recording, and 3) retrieving. Improve these areas by memorizing when rested, break things down into smaller units, write down the information, and learn in stages with each stage building upon the previous.
  • Understand the difference between urgent and important! It's like the difference between just being busy or actually being productive. Things seldom elevate to a crisis level and become urgent matters without some warning. Try to focus on the important and minimize the urgent.

A Simple Plan Guaranteed to Increase Your Productivity

What's More Valuable Than Money?

Yes, time is the one thing we all possess in equal measure. You and I both have 24 hours a day, just like every other living person. We will never have any more time in a given day than anyone else.

Q: What's the one thing you CANNOT do with your time that you can do with money?

A: Save it for future use!

The constant question: Is what I’m doing now the best use of my time in living and creating the lifestyle I want for myself and those closest to me?

Precious moments of time can be found by taking a time inventory for a day. Are you using your drive/exercise time effectively by listening to education material? Can you get reading, or other work, done while sitting in those long, boring meetings?

Many of the greatest accomplishments of humanity have occurred through the use of the precious moments of time that are overlooked by most people. Make sure you're using even the "few minutes" you have here and there each day.

You see, TIME really is much more valuable than money. Make sure you spend your time wisely!

Stop Being a Procrastinator...Now!

Which thought do you tend to have: "Never put off till tomorrow, that which you can do today" or "Never do today, what you can put off till tomorrow"?

If you have a better life, it's because you did something to make it better. Just wishing and hoping never accomplishes anything.

It's more important to do what you say than to say what you will do. To be effective you must learn to manage yourself and the time you have been given.

By getting things done, you develop a great sense of accomplishment and want to get even more done. Here are some techniques to eliminating procrastination from your life:
  • Live 5 minutes at a time. What will you accomplish in the next 5 minutes?
  • Schedule a specific time to work on a designated task you've been putting off. 15 minutes of work on a specific task usually gives you the momentum you need to accomplish it.
  • Take one thing you need to get done and break it down into 3 steps; take the first step now.
  • Ask yourself if you are doing what you would be doing if you only had 6 months to live.
  • Eliminate words like "hope," "wish," and "maybe" from your vocabulary. Substitute new words of action like "will," "ensure," and "make" instead.

2. Silence - Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself; avoid trifling conversation.

3. Order - Let all your things have their places; let each part of your business have its time.

4. Resolution - Resolve to perform what you ought; perform without fail what you resolve.

5. Frugality - Make no expense but to do good to others or yourself; i.e., waste nothing.

6. Industry - Lose no time; be always employed in something useful; cut off all unnecessary actions.

7. Sincerity - Use no hurtful deceit; think innocently and justly, and, if you speak, speak accordingly.

8. Justice - Wrong none by doing injuries, or omitting the benefits that are your duty.

9. Moderation - Avoid extremes; forbear resenting injuries so much as you think they deserve.

10. Cleanliness - Tolerate no uncleanliness in body, clothes, or habitation.

11. Tranquility - Be not disturbed at trifles, or at accidents common or unavoidable.

12. Chastity - Rarely use venery but for health or offspring, never to dullness, weakness, or the injury of your own or another's peace or reputation.

13. Humility - imitate Jesus and Socrates.
